KPMG-trained chartered accountant turned operational CEO, Nigel Ayres brings a rare blend of finance rigour and entrepreneurial drive to senior leadership engagements. Nigel started his career at KPMG Peat Marwick across London and Hong Kong before stepping into senior finance leadership roles — including as Finance Director at Lloyds Bank Registrars in the early 1990s, where he drove a 57% market share and turned losses into 40% profits on £60M turnover.

He went on to take CEO turnaround roles internationally, including as Chief Executive of Accor Corporate Services USA, a $100M HR outsourcing business, where he doubled revenues and reversed losses to over 50% gross margins by securing Chrysler, Sears and Bank of America as clients. As Finance Director at Siemens Business Services, Nigel was commercial lead on the £1bn, ten-year PFI outsourcing contract with National Savings & Investments — a deal involving the transfer of 4,100 staff that the National Audit Office praised as one of the few successful public-sector PFI deals.

Today, Nigel is Chief Executive Officer at Expat Network Ltd, having acquired the business in 2014 and merged two companies under a single brand, securing alliances with HSBC, Barclays and Cigna Global Healthcare. He specialises in turnarounds, startups, outsourcing, financial control, strategic planning and PFI contracting — an ideal fractional CFO for ambitious businesses navigating commercial change, transactions or growth across financial services, public-sector outsourcing, global mobility and HR outsourcing.
