Interim IT Director and Fractional CTO Simon Heyes has over thirty years of leadership experience in the Managed Service Provider and cloud technology sectors. Simon’s formative achievement was founding and running Xicon Cloud, which he led from 1991 to 2020 — nearly three decades — transitioning it from a systems integrator to a premier Private Cloud provider for the NHS and SMEs before facilitating its successful acquisition by BCN Group.

During his tenure at Xicon, Simon built a reputation for maintaining a 40% margin while minimising customer churn in one of the most competitive technical sectors in the UK. He has continued his board-level technology and governance work since, including serving as Non-Executive Director at Crosby Housing Association, providing governance and strategic oversight for sustainable housing solutions.

Today, Simon is Chief Technology Officer at Resman Limited, leading strategic vision and technical innovation across the MSP sector, while also serving as Interim Head of IT at Compass — managing the final stages of a Microsoft Azure migration and overseeing all IT project spending for the health charity. He specialises in cloud computing, managed services, infrastructure management, digital transformation and cyber security — ideal for MSPs, healthcare organisations, charities and SMEs undergoing significant technology change.
