Dave’s career in fintech leadership and strategy expertise spans over 25 years, encompassing a broad range of roles in payment, fintech, and software technology. His experience stretches across established international businesses like Visa and multinational software companies such as CREALOGIX, to pivotal roles in start-ups and scaling businesses including Ixaris and Weavr.

At Visa, Dave held multiple senior management positions, managing the P&L for the processing business and leading business operations across Europe. At Ixaris, a pioneer in delivering virtual cards and accounts to the travel industry, he further developed his leadership skills. As General Manager & COO, he played a key role in doubling the company’s revenue and achieving breakeven, while establishing strategic global partnerships and expanding the business in Europe and the APAC region.

In his role at Weavr, an emerging leader in embedded finance, Dave led the executive team as COO. He was instrumental in building the operating model and execution framework, which was key in securing a significant $40 million Series A VC investment in 2021.

Dave’s expertise extends to consultancy, with projects in Dubai, Jersey, and the UK, all centred on fintech and financial services. He specialises in supporting founder CEOs and leadership teams in start-up and scaling businesses, effectively turning strategy into execution. Currently advising several fintech businesses across the UK, Dave also contributes as a coach and mentor for a Manchester-based accelerator.

Outside of his professional life, Dave resides in the North West of England with his family. He enjoys the outdoor life in the Forest of Bowland, the Dales, and along the coast. A long-suffering Oxford United fan, he gets misty-eyed about the halcyon days of the Milk Cup!
